Role Profile
Bunzl UK & Ireland supplies, through a number of specialist distribution businesses, a range of more than 100,000 products including food packaging, disposable supplies, catering equipment, healthcare consumables and cleaning and safety products to supermarkets, retailers, hotels, restaurants and caterers, construction companies, healthcare providers and other users.
Currently all finance activities are managed within the different Bunzl operating companies however, the decision has been taken to create a Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) which will be located in Isleworth. The FSSC will manage most of the finance activity across UK & Ireland and the transition will begin in January 2021 through to the summer of 2021
As Bunzl's outsourced recruitment partner, Cast UK are delighted to be managing the recruitment of all new hires for the FSSC. As part of the new team, we are looking to appoint a Transition Manager on a 9-month fixed term contract.
The Transition Manager is a key hire for Bunzl and will be supporting the implementation of the FSSC into Bunzl UK & Irelands operating model. The key focus of the role will be to manage the process of migrating work for specific finance processes from various Bunzl operating companies into the FSSC over an 8-10-week period at a time. This will involve coordinating a team from across the business to achieve several transitions until the FSSC is fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head of Shared Services for the FSSC
- Build relationships and influence stakeholders
- Coordinate internal resources to complete the transition to plan
- Ensure transitions are delivered within scope and aligned to the service model
- Ensure that issues and risks are identified that may impact the transition
- Manage the transition plan to monitor delivery of milestones
- Create and maintain transition documentation and data
- Travel to Bunzl operational sites within UK & Ireland as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Exceptional client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent influencing and assertiveness skills
- Strong written communication, presenting written information in a grammatically correct manner
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Ability to quickly understand issues and solve problems
- Experience of working in a service transition or migration environment
- Experience dealing with ambiguity and handling resistance to change
- Experience of business change or project management is beneficial
- Project management qualifications are beneficial but not essential
- A general understanding of how a finance function and a shared user finance function is structured
