Role Profile
Based in our Barking Head Office you will be the primary point of contact for a large portfolio of customers you will deliver a professional and timely account management service whilst identifying and converting any opportunities to grow sales value and margin. Working with agreed business plans, maintain existing business and generate sustainable new business. The primary facilitator between customer, business support and manufacturing functions managing customer requests including commercial information held on customer and business portals
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and control a portfolio of existing accounts to achieve sustainable growth in sales and profit in line with company objectives, sell to existing customers, and develop new customers identifying and cultivating new markets and business opportunities
- Seamless internal communication on day-to-day customer account activity, ensuring key stakeholders e.g. NPD, Office Administration, Production, Distribution are engaged and where appropriate consulted
- Generate and develop sales opportunities by gaining an insight into client's food buying habits and their short-medium term objectives
- Consistently achieve personal monthly sales target
- Leadership and management of new business critical paths, resolving problems by effectively engaging internal teams and the wider group business partners
- Drive successful contract and pricing negotiations, be tactical, drive timelines and create urgency
- Assist in the preparation of business plans to develop each account to its maximum potential and conduct regular reviews
- Maintain a good awareness of market and competitor activities and report as necessary
- Building strong internal and external relationships
- Generate presentations and regular KPI reports in line with the requirements of our customers / prospects
- Attend and present competently at customer meetings and internal team meetings
- Attend relevant trade and industry events to help build a positive brand image.
Requirements
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes and procedures
- Accurate attention to details and outstanding organisational skills
- Experience in a similar role ideally in food preferably chilled food
- Sales management experience with a proven track record
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
- Able to effectively challenge and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Confident presentation skills for conveying ideas and strategies to peer group and business colleagues.
