Role Profile
Cast UK are supporting our client, who is a leading logistics business, in their recruitment process of a General Manager, based in Yorkshire. Reporting into the Operations Director, you will be responsible for day to day management of the site. This is a complex role that will require the successful candidate to possess strong man management and leadership skills for a team of colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, motivate and lead the management team in order to control and positively impact agreed site KPI targets such as accuracy, absence and department productivity, providing clear direction and accountability.
- Manage and agree DC recruitment in line with volumes, revised forecasts, cost, the planner and agency provider.
- Act as a role model for the management team, being personally accountable for setting high standards of behaviour on site.
- Overall responsibility for the planning and managing of the DC operation to meet cost and quality standards.
- Deliver best in class service to stakeholders, both internal and external
- Introduce and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline performance
- P&L accountability, reporting into Operations Director
Skills & Experience
- Proven track-record of working within FMCG logistics or 3PL environments
- Comfortable leading a team of operatives in a busy environment, providing leadership and developing the team
- Strong H&S focus
- Experience managing significant P&L's
- Exceptional customer service with focus on exceeding client expectations
