Role Profile
Following the opening of their new 120,000 square foot distribution centre at Horizon Logistics Park, Dublin, in 2019, Bunzl are seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Stock Availability which will form part of their senior leadership team. Cast UK are delighted to be chosen as the exclusive recruitment partner for this key hire.
Part of the FTSE100 listed Bunzl PLC, Bunzl Cleaning and Safety Supplies and Bunzl Irish Merchants divisions will operate from the new site. The Head of Stock Availability will report directly to the Managing Director will build and drive the strategy for inventory & budget planning, forecasting and stock management. The role will ensure there is optimal balance between stock availability and the cost of inventory and will work closely alongside other functions within the business including Commercial & Finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high levels of customer service by holding the correct stock levels to meet customer demand
- Drive inventory optimisation through improved receipt planning & management and improved stock turnover
- Partner with the Operations team on capacity and intake planning including container capacity planning
- Partner with the category team to develop the inventory strategy, providing data-driven input from historical data customer analytics, market conditions and supplier demands
- Act as a change leader to support company initiatives, actively participating in strategic decision making, proactively challenging status quo, presenting alternative approaches, and highlighting potential issues as needed
- Lead and coach the Product Availability team to deliver against its objectives
- Create clear visibility and reporting on the performance of Product Availability and Inventory Management
- Own the Integrated Planning system solutions from inception to completion
- Lead daily end-to-end integrated planning functions, developing tactical and strategic plans
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven track-record in similar stock availability role, with demonstrable improvements in results
- Strong leadership skills with ability to win the hearts and minds of the team
- Excellent knowledge of business ERP environment
- Strong system knowledge across WMS, ERP and Microsoft Office
- Customer focused leader who can intelligently balance the demands of the day-to-day and strategic expectations
- Experience with Six Sigma, LEAN, or similar quality management methodologies
