Role Profile
After a hugely successful 2018, our client, a market leading retailer based in the North West, is looking to appoint a Junior Merchandiser where you will support in leading the department to deliver sales, markdown, stock, intake and profit plans. You will be passionate about product and have the ability to react quickly to change, working in an extremely fast-paced environment. Strong forecasting and planning skills are required in order to hit the ground running; therefore, it is essential that you are currently working as an established Assistant Merchandiser or above. This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright and ambitious individual to join a market leading retailer who can offer further development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing weekly trading performance
• Ensuring the WSSI is updated
• Reviewing previous seasons
• Attending selection meetings
• Building the range plan
• Overviewing the ratios for all buys in conjunction with Assistant Merchandiser
• Establishing strong working relationships with suppliers
• Managing order books
• Proposing and agreeing actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities with the Merchandiser and Buyer at category and line level
• Managing line cards
• Managing intake at category and line level

Skills & Experience

• Retail merchandising experience at established Assistant Merchandiser / Senior Assistant Merchandiser level is essential, working for a head office and dealing with stores
• Strong Excel skills and WSSI / line card experience
• Ability to cope and stay calm / focused in a fast-paced working environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical / numerical skills
• Team player
• Passion for product
