Role Profile
Cast UK are currently looking to recruit for a well-known specialist Logistics business, who are in the market for an experienced, ambitious Operations Manager, to join the team at their office in Merseyside. Reporting into the General Manger, this role will oversee a vibrant team, consisting of team leaders and operators. A big element of the role is customer management, dealing with any issues or queries that could arise. The business specialise in multi-modal transport across the UK and Europe. The role is typically Monday to Friday, and also offers the opportunity for some European travel to International offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and development to Team Leaders and Operators
- Co-ordinate Transport of specialist products across the UK and Europe, via multi-modal forms of transport
- Customer service- playing an integral role in account management, particularly centred around on-boarding new clients
- Negotiating rates, ensuring cost effective solutions and maximising revenue opportunities
- Ensure robust systems and procedures are introduced and maintained throughout the operation
- Participate in operational reviews and taking action where necessary to improve service, reduce costs and maintain best in class standards
Skills & Experiences
- Proven track-record in a managerial role, providing leadership to teams
- Commercially aware, you must be well-versed in customer management and reviewing financial performances
- Experienced with customer management, delivering best in class service
- Multi-modal experience would be highly desirable
- A background within shipping would be beneficial
- Experience of international logistics would be preferred
- Ability to influence at all levels
