Role Profile

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a thriving business in the Stockport area as a Buyer / Inventory Planner!

This is an end to end procurement role for a growing SME which has won significant contracts with a number of high profile customers and whose ambitious expansion plans are set to continue!

Your Key Responsibilities as a Buyer will include:

  • Reviewing MRP system on a daily basis
  • Placing POs and expediting deliveries with a wide range of international suppliers
  • Negotiating pricing and terms with a global supplier base
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and added value
  • Drawing up long term agreements / contracts where appropriate
  • Working to drive improvements in supplier performance and OTIF delivery
  • Leading a supplier rationalisation project
  • Reviewing inventory levels and striving to optimise stock levels to avoid stock outs / over stocking

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as a Buyer in a fast paced purchasing role
  • Proven track record as an Inventory Planner with evidence of optimising stock levels
  • Confidence to negotiate with suppliers on terms and pricing
  • Excellent analytical skills and good working knowledge of Excel
  • High attention to detail and good organisation skills
  • Passion and drive to implement and improve processes and procedures for procurement and inventory management in a rapidly expanding SME
