Role Profile
Our client is a growing and successful retailer based in London, who is now looking to recruit a highly driven, enthusiastic and ambitious Buyer to join their friendly and relaxed team. Reporting into the Head of Buying, your role will be to drive, action and curate the buying of branded products within the Action Sports industry in line with strategic goals. To drive top line revenue growth, improve margin in line with company targets and represent the business direction with product selections. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are hardworking and commercially minded. The ideal candidate would be an all-round Buyer looking to join an expanding business that can offer fantastic development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Curation of branded product offering with key focus on Womenswear Action Sports clothing products.
- Support trade functions to drive sales and optimise stock levels
- Ensure smooth running of buying cycle and drive performance within.
- Ensure efficient brand stock rotation, including ensuring old stock is sold via innovative methods.
- Continually negotiate optimum trade terms.
- Effective communication with marketing & merchandising team.
- Liaise with suppliers to source promotional material to support our online promotions in the form of gift with purchase, prize giveaways, clearance stock, unique content, social networking and any other promotional material.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
- Knowledge of Action sports industry & marketplace
- Expert knowledge of swimwear products, brands and categories
- Strong analytical & negotiation skills.
- The ability to recognise future trends.
- Excellent commercial awareness.
- Communication skills.
- Confidence and presentation skills.
