Bunzl Catering Supplies, part of the Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division, is the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the hospitality and catering sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of customers in both the private and public sector from small independent cafe owners, local health trusts and schools to national hotel and restaurant chains.
As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Catering, Cast UK are leading the search for a Warehouse Manager to be based in their key strategic depot in Basingstoke. Reporting into the Warehouse Operations Manager the Warehouse Manager will take responsibility for the process of maintaining the warehouse goods procedures within Bunzl Catering Supplies on the quantity, location, and condition of supplies and product due-in, on-hand, and due-out, to help determine quantities of stock and product available and/or required for issue and to facilitate distribution and management of supplies. The successful candidate will understand the importance of empowering staff to make decisions and take calculated risks from their own accord.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company's stock inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
- Ensure that goods inward department is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
- Action discrepancies on transfer, including audit screen checks and the recording of any stock adjustments resulting from the discrepancy checks
- Action discrepancies for all picks, record and stock adjustments and raise urgent for transfer
- Annual stock take and reconciliation of stock.
- Ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
- Check and adjust shop floor data collection data
- Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved to achieve a minimum of 99% inventory record accuracy
- Effective management of people and performance management
- Lead, develop and motivate employees creating a positive culture in which personnel have the confidence to take calculated risks off of their own accord
- Ensure training plans are in place to sustain competent performance by team.
- Ensure any and all disciplinary investigations are detailed, fair and consistent and carry out disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings
- Be able to understand and improve site H&S by leaning on a professional qualification
Skills & Experience Required
- Must be a proven leader of people in a busy multi-functional environment
- Understand high volume, low margin distribution
- Proven track record of managing operational change and delivering operational efficiency and service level agreements
- Strong leadership skills with focus on colleague engagement, empowerment, and overall development
- Has the ability to understand an operation from ground level to enable their ability to influence others.
- Must have the operational and commercial experience to challenge the status quo to further develop CI
- Understanding of ISO accreditation
