Role Profile

Our customer who is a growing logistics business is looking to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager, to be based at thier site in Cannock. Reporting to Head Of Operations, you will have day to day responsibility for all aspects of the warehouse. The role includes tpically working Monday to Friday, however there will be flexibility required in line with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision of a responsive and cost-efficient warehouse aligned to the current and long term aims of the business.
  • Responsibility for the Leadership and Direction of the Warehouse team (teaching, coaching and developing)
  • To drive continuous improvement in people, process and the cost efficiency of the operations.
  • Ensuring safety guidelines policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff, temporary staff, visitors and contractors.
  • The management of projects and introduction of new initiatives.
  • To ensure the warehouse is capable of delivering the volume requirement of the business in a fast and efficient way whilst ensuring customer service requirements are met.
  • To implement robust measurements to track and communicate service and productivity improvements.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and security across site operations.
  • Hold self and others accountable for quality of service and meeting deadlines.
  • To set clear goals for team with timely performance reviews.
  • Role model for company standards and behaviours.

Skills & Experience

  • Self-driven, results orientated with a clear focus on exceeding targets who is a natural planner and critically assesses performance and learns from it.
  • A team player, able to influence, coach and lead others. You will be an effective communicator, able to communicate clearly and succinctly at all levels within the business.
  • Sound working knowledge of distribution department practices and procedures, operational expectation and associate performance tracking systems, distribution operating systems, logistics and forecasting ability essential.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of consultation and negotiation skillls with a proven experience of leading and supporting organisational /cultural change.
  • Experience in a a fast paced picking and packing environment, ideally FMCG
