The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a growing international food trading business based in central Manchester. The company sources and distributes premium meat products across the UK and Europe, working with wholesalers, food manufacturers, retailers and catering businesses.
This is a commercially focused opportunity for a confident Sales Executive who enjoys building relationships, negotiating deals and speaking with customers regularly. You will manage existing accounts while also identifying new business opportunities across the UK and European markets.
The successful candidate will join an expanding UK team and will have the opportunity to develop into a more senior account management position as the business continues to grow.
The Role
You will take ownership of a portfolio of customers while actively developing new accounts. The role will involve daily outbound calls, account management, pricing negotiations and coordination with suppliers and logistics partners.
You will be responsible for managing the full sales process, from the initial conversation through to quotation, order fulfilment and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop new business through structured outbound sales activity, referrals and industry networking
* Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts
* Build strong relationships with wholesalers, manufacturers, retailers and catering businesses
* Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with customers and suppliers
* Source meat products to meet customer specifications, volumes and margin expectations
* Manage the full order cycle, including quotations, logistics coordination and on time delivery
* Monitor market trends and identify commercial opportunities
* Arrange and attend customer meetings and supplier visits where required
* Work closely with colleagues and international suppliers across Europe
What We Are Looking For
* Previous experience within food sales, meat trading, FMCG or a closely related commercial environment
* A confident communicator who is comfortable speaking with customers over the phone
* A proactive salesperson who can generate new business while maintaining long term relationships
* Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
* The ability to manage accounts independently and take ownership of your workload
* A team player who can also work effectively without constant supervision
* Experience dealing with European customers or suppliers would be advantageous
* Knowledge of food logistics, import processes or export processes would be beneficial
