Role Profile
Our Client is a leading water business located in Hertfordshire. Looking for a Category Manager to join their established Procurement Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking company which is currently enjoying unrivalled growth and success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement category strategy for a defined spend area
- Deliver savings and value added through strategic procurement activity
- Manage tenders and negotiations for high value and complex contracts (in line with EU Procurement Directives where necessary)
- Develop and maintain key supplier relationships
- Manage a small category team
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a strategic procurement or category management role
- Knowledge of public sector procurement (EU Procurement Directive, OJEU)
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead projects and large scale Procurement activities at a senior level
- Line management experience
Candidates with MCIPS qualification are preferred.
