Click Entertainment is an international wholesaler and distributor of video games, consoles, and accessories, with more than 50 employees and an annual turnover of more than £140 million. They have direct relationships with manufacturers, publishers and large global suppliers and we always buy large quantities of stock. Both factors contribute towards their low prices. Holding physical stock, they are able to dispatch orders efficiently and safely anywhere in the world using their trusted delivery network.
Their rapidly growing customer database consists of distributors, high street retailers, internet retailers, corporate resellers, mail order companies and independent retailers.
Responsibilities
As part of their continued success, they are seeking an enthusiastic Commercial Manager to join their team. They are looking for someone who can creatively cut through financial and non-financial data sets from a range of sources to illuminate trends, solve problems or provide evidence to contribute to their business' projects.
The successful candidate with challenge the business and its leaders to make improvements, such as streamlining expenditure, to maximise profit and improve financial performance.
You will also provide regular analysis of sales performance against targets to highlight variances and identify areas for improvement.
Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Automating reporting on key KPIs through BI platform
- Providing finance business partner support to operations, commercial or sales, influencing behaviours and performance through insights and understanding of key drivers and trends.
- Analysis of sales/margins - volume, price, mix vs. forecast - identifying issues, recommending actions, measuring outcomes.
- Leading and improving the budgeting and forecasting processes including agreeing, reviewing, challenging commercial targets with business/department leads.
- Managing ongoing forecasting and finance review to ensure commercial risks and opportunities are highlighted.
- Coordinating and leading the annual financial planning process.
- Estimate the ROI for sales activity.
Requirements
Experience and qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role for a commercial company, trading firm is preferable.
- Previous experience of working with an ERP or database system to monitor & extract data.
- Experience of using SQL to extract and use data is required.
- Experience of using, Excel and other data analytic / BI software to manipulate and produce information for management and others within the team.
- Direct experience of using business information and understanding of how a business operates to add value to decision making.
- Experience of working with and influencing a range of colleagues up to board level.
- Must be able to work in fast paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to adapt their style with a range of staff to build relationships.
- Can operate effectively in an informal, non-corporate and at times loud environment.
