Role Profile

Cast UK is delighted to be recruiting a Transport Clerk on a permanent night shift for one of our key customers based in Hemel Hempstead. Reporting into the Transport Manager, you will play a key role in the development of their transport function and driver team. It will be the responsibility of the Transport Clerk to organise and perform all admin tasks in a logical and timely manner. In addition, you must be able to multitask, manage and keep accurate and up to date records whilst providing support to other areas of the office environment as and when directed.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Assist with the day to day traffic operation providing admin support
• Support in the transport department to help manage driver start times & departures
• Book and record all information required for drivers including third parties
• Debrief drivers ensuring all information is recorded
• Resolve customer service queries whilst developing and maintaining customer relations
• Check through drivers trips utilising Microlise to update clients on deliveries

Skills & Experience

Our client is looking to enlist the services of an experienced Transport Administrator who can demonstrate a background of working within an administration support environment, preferably within a transport or warehousing function. Highly organised and with a keenness for attention to detail, candidates must be proactive and able to manage their own work stream and communication effectively with both the driver and management team. The ability to organise and maintain accurate legal documents is also essential.
