Role Profile
Bunzl Retail and Healthcare Supplies is the leading distributor of disposables, packaging and hygiene solutions to the retail and healthcare sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of customers in both the private and public sector from large retail business, hospitals and trusts and private healthcare businesses.
As the exclusive recruitment partner for Bunzl Retail and Healthcare, Cast UK are leading the search for a Regional HR Manager for their northern region centralised in Manchester. The incumbent to this role will take responsibility for providing high quality customer service through generalist day-to-day operational HR advice and support, to all employees and managers, within the designated region and in accordance with Bunzl HR policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expert support to the MDs, Leadership team and manager groups of BRHS
- Champion the relevant operating company vision, mission, value, and behaviours. Monitor and encourage participation in reward schemes.
- Support initiatives and activity related to social value, including charity fundraising and volunteering.
- Ensure that the Company operates and complies with current UK and European legislation.
- Ensure that all Company HR policies and procedures are adhered to; maintain appropriate records and documentation in line with current employment law.
- Analysis of HR measures/KPIs such as employee retention and absence levels and providing advice and support to the management team to improve.
- Support Line Managers with recruitment and formal meetings, including grievance, disciplinary and appeals where necessary.
- Support Manager to drive high operational standards through effective performance management and development
- Support Managers in developing good communication and engagement with their teams, including regular face-to-face communication.
- Implement robust processes for managing performance reviews and succession planning.
- Support managers in their use of YELP, the apprenticeship levy and all other internal and external learning & development interventions.
- Deliver core HR workshops in rotation with peers and colleagues in the UK & Ireland HR team.
- Support line managers to ensure the personal wellbeing of their team members through appropriate use of occupational health, EAP, Neyber, substance abuse testing and appropriate risk assessments.
Skills & Experience
- Member of the CIPD.
- Proven HR expertise at an operational level, preferably within a warehouse and distribution environment.
- Proven experience in delivering organisational and structural change.
- Proven track record of delivering service in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing a high volume of activity.
- Self-Starter, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly proficient in all areas of employment law.
